My new tank! (pic)

Thanks for the comments!

I don't think the guppies will take the abuse either. they will most likely get moved.

I like the rockwork too! I may run up to the landscape supply place today and get another big rock, the back right of the tank looks barren, especially at the top.

Thanks for the plant ID! I think it will do well in my tank.

I am thinking of dropping the puffer idea and going with a community tank of nice fishes. I may be a dork, but I like those little guppies, and my wife adores neons.

Yipes. I am missing a guppy...Ralph. I searched the whole tank and I can't find him. If any fish jump, my dogs and cats would make short work of them. Do guppies jump? There is a small open space he could have gotten out of. Also...could the shrimp have eaten him? It seems a huge meal for 5 shrimp.

1) good to have Hygro among your starter plants - will help delay the onset of algae

2) good idea to drop puffers as you'd only be able to get away w/ one unless the tank was so densely planted that you had a hard time seeing any fish

3) guppies aren't reallly known as jumpers - probably died, was eaten or hidden by shrimp (guppies aren't all that tough - not the best fish for fishy cycling)

4) Looks like a nice start, if you have not yet read it, I suggest having a look at RexGrigg's guide to planted tanks. www.rexgrigg.com. - you may well be in the lighting range where you will want to consider adding CO2. His linked "Best Aquarium Regulator" store also features very good pricing on dry ferts (and top shelf CO2 stuff).

Guppy died. Poor guy. I tore all the rockwork down and found him. Hope I didn't kill any shrimp. I went ahead and took the big rock against the back wall out and replaced it with one of the same type that extends all the way to the top of the tank.

I wouldn't have cycled with guppies, but people told me that they were very hardy. I need to learn to start coming here first.
