What could be the cause of deterioration?
I have a 14W light, ADA Amazonia substrate, using a commercial CO2 mixture with the ladder.

Other questions:
1. Should i switch to an eheim overflow pipe or wide jet pipe instead of sticking with the shower pipe? The flow is hitting the tall plants.
2. Any comments on my layout so that i can do better when i attempt my third tank. My first one was a total chaos.

Finaly someone from Japan.

Are you using Co2 injection? Amazonia substrate is good, but some of the plants that you have are very high light plants, especially the baby tears, you may have problems with that in the future. As for your dying plants ,the one in the second pic is a relative high light plant and it dose not supprise me that it is dying, as for your first pic I don't which plant you are refering to. What are you dosing with? Brighty K, green step Brighty ?

I would try to get your light up to at least 25w. If you don't have Co2 why not try it, there are a few good little kits that ADA and a few other companys put out and they are not that expensive. You will get much better growth from your plants.

Thanks for the welcome! So no one living in japan here? I'm having a hard time here because I don't really know the names of the plants i'm getting. They are all in japanese.

I am currently using Hagen Nutrafin CO2 system. After that I will try DIY CO2 too. I'm planning on getting a tank type CO2 system but don't have the budget yet(i just got a new filter).

Ok so the red-leaf plant in the 2nd picture needs more light. I was referring to this in the first picture.

Maybe this is the baby tears you are talking about?

Can i add a 14W clip-on light to get 28W total? (I just realized this is stupid. I'll try to get a better light)

What about the outlet pipe? Should i change it? The anubis nana is being bombarded by the flow coming out of the shower pipe.

Regarding the Brighty K. I'll probably do the step Brighty, Brighty K and Brighty Special Light.

Sorry for some newbie questions. I should have posted this in the Newbie section.

Hi,

The plant looks like Lysimachia (Creeping Jenny). According to Aqua Botanic, this plant is "a slow growing stem plant. Two versions: Gold: bright yellow leaves, Green: light green leaves. Needs bright light. Very pretty plant!"

Check out the website:http://www.aquabotanic.com/abstore/index.html

P.S. Maybe you can retrofit your lights. Look up AH supply's website.

Yes I live in Japan.

The plant in the pic is not "Lysimachia Creeping Jenny", it is baby tears (Micranthemum umbrosum) and is very light demanding ,fast growing and that is why it is dying now.

Yes I was talking about the "baby tears" , It is a very high light plant as I just stated, and 28w still may not be enough to keep it going. You could try 28w and see how it goes , if it dosen't work you could either replace the plant with something a little less difficult or add more light again.

Because you are using Co2 you can go a much higher wattage with your lights. How long has the tank been up and running for?

I was referring to the circled plant in the picture. If you look at the picture of the plant pictured above and the plant in my tank (lower right side), it bears a striking resemblance to Creeping Jenny.

If it doesn't, then I stand corrected.
