Octavius turned out to be a she, she dissapeared into her den a few weeks ago, and last week I noticed a small cluster of tiny white eggs when I shined a flashlight through a LR hole. Unfortunately this means the end for her is near:headshake2: Its been a great 5 months though. I posted on Tonmo already, but if anyone has any information on how to raise the eggs please let me know, If they're fertilized I'd love to get a couple to live.

Sperm can be stored for around 5 months in some species, a little longer or less...much si unknown. So its along shot since I got her in Feb, but it is possible before she was caught she could have mated.

it's not common, but not unheard of, for octopus eggs to hatch in private home aquaria. however i have hatched hundreds of little buggers [mom was personally caught, kept for about 2 months till she laid] my fish feasted on most of the octlets:wall:.
i gave the surviving ones away, they apparently took tiny bits of mysis, newly hatched brine shrimp, small pods. dont know how they're doing now though.

OHHH MAN! hundreds if not thousands of babies floating around today. So lucky I unplugged the skimmer last night. In a panic I ran out to the only LFS near me that sells tiny arctic pods, I hope that can hold them over. I have to overnight order some mysid or something, have an airstone in there now. I really didnt expect the eggs to be fertilized, let alone hatch this quick! I took some video, but when things calm down I'll post it. The mom is doing fine also, she looks great. Im awaiting a reply on Tonmo as far as what exactly to get for them. I hope I can raise a few.
