Hi i got two new orandas for my b day One i noticed has The color of its body(orange) tubericles.. how long will it take for a male with them to spawn????????? Petsmart said they would buy them from me if they hatched Please tell me ????????
From what I have read, it takes 3-4 years for goldfish to reach maturity ( the time at wich they spawn/get in the mood to spawn), provided that the tank is of proper size (I read your other post, so You should have 125-150g for 6-8 golds)OrandaLover0905 said:Hi i got two new orandas for my b day One i noticed has The color of its body(orange) tubericles.. how long will it take for a male with them to spawn????????? They will get stunted in a 20g, wich causes the fishes body to stop growing, as well as spine deformation - a really painfull and long death to your fish. Personaly, I had goldfish, but they died off becuase I couldn't get a big enough tank in time (they were 3 of them, all 2-4 inches in a 10g, they died off in about 5-6 months before the last one died off). It seems like you want your fish to breed soon, but you want to go the "let them grow to big for the tank before upgrading"(this won't happen becuase they will get stunted) or the "they grow to the tank"(they'll get stunted and won't reach maturity or spawn if you do this) routes.OrandaLover0905 said:I have 6 baby Goldfish and a Weather loac in a 20 gal they are doing just fine i know they WILL need it to be that large but right now they are 2 1/2 inches they are tiney Do you yhave goldfish and if so how big??????????
No none of this helps that much. If you can't afford a TANK, you can probably sell the smaller tanks and get enoough money to make a few indoor "ponds" out of a rubbermaid tub with sponge filters(easily built if you can't afford to buy one) for filtration (that's all you would need to properly suport coldwater fish, gravel, lighting and decor are for your viewing pleasure and golds would probably like the bare bottom more becuase they could locate excess food easier), and this would probably be wnough for two or three golds depending on how big it is.OrandaLover0905 said:You see my dad doesn't really care about goldfish and we are not Rich (NOT saying you are) but right now we just can't afford Or my dad really doesn't care if we would flush'em But i do i also have a 10 gal and a 5 and two threes Does any of this help???????
