MY OSCAR MIGHT BE CHOKING PLEASE HELP!

I was feeding my Oscar some krill and shrimp and he sucked in the shrimp and hasn't spit it back out or eaten it all the way. His mouth won't stop opening and his gills are going crazy. He doesn't seem distressed though. Do they just keep food in their mouths sometimes? I've never seen him do this. I'm worried it might be stuck.

He must have eaten it. I was worried because it looked like he was trying to spit it out.

Ya he choked. Many of my fish, particulary bettas, are big chokers and they do nothing besides choking

That’s typical for Oscars. Cichlids have teeth in their throat. I’ve seen Oscars inhale feeder goldfish and have tails sticking out of their mouth for hours
