I just went through moving my 60g tank from my rents house to my new house i moved 50% of the original water and took the 4 fish that where in there full size convict, pleco 12"+, some small breed pleco and my 12"+ tiger oscar. all of the fish seem fine except the oscar he's coming up on 3 years old he was in a five gallon bucket i cleaned out well with aquarium salt for maybe 2 to 3 hours. I even rigged a magnum HOT filter to the bucket to give him air and circulate the water its been 2 days now and he wont eat anything and he's just sitting on the bottom. All the other fish seem fine and i'm wondering if maybe he's been this way for awhile cause my father was suppose to be there care taker for the last 6 months but i know he wasn't doing very much for them. Also wondering if he has a peracite or something. i'm going to the local fish store tomarro to get the water tested and ask there advice.

Your tank sounds overstocked, maybe your oscar is playing up because of poor water quality as those fish are to big a bio load for that tank. IMO the min' size tank for an oscar is 75g.

What are you water parameters?
What fillters do you have?
What is your cleaning routine?

Did you test the water parameters before you move your fish? I can guess shock from the sudden change in water parameters. Please ask your father for details on what he did with your tank for six months.

i have 2 magnum hots and a ehiem classic rated to 150 gallons but i'm pretty sure the tank was only vacuumed about once every 2 to 3 weeks i was stopping by to replace the filter media/cartredeges when needed but it was pritty much a mess cause it wasn't getting enough water changes. i'm srry to say the fish got neglected because tell now i couldn't move them to where i live and i don't exactly get along with my parents but i'm not really here to worry about my relationship with them i'm just trying to make sure my oscar lives i'm going to bed now when i get up i'm making the 40 min drive to my "local" fish store for prime and a water test"

Okay, make sure that the test kit is API master liquid. It's accurate and will save you time and money. Test strips are entirely unreliable. If the tank is indeed neglected, then what you must do is perform small water changes daily. Start with 5%. Increase the water volume as days pass.

my water deosn't seem to be the issue there no ammonia 0.00 and everythign else was just fine according to the local fish store guy my dad said he only fead them like once a day and sometimes he would forget to feed them... so is it that he's not use to an eating schedule??

he just said "every thing else is fine" so i'm going to go buy that kit u mentioned at petsmart or something cause i didn't think about it but he prob just tested the ammonia and when that was 0.00 he prob didn't bother to test the others... geuss i might need to find a diff local fish store
