It's NOT an opinion, it's reality.. the fish are going to grow.

In conditions such as Bobs they're more likely to become stunted and deformed, suffer from disease and territorial aggression and fall victim to a early death.

well, maybe its mean to keep fish, no tank is big enough and they belong in the ocean or a lake. So we are all bad fish keepers.

bob, ur wisdom is only surpassed by your ignorance. do not justify your stubborness to advice! If u r not married, dont get married, if u are married, get a divorce, cuz ur life will be hell! Not an opinion, just an observation.

Good Day Sir

off-topic

Fish keeping is a selfish hobby in a way. However, one can and should provide the best habitat for his/her fish as possible. Bob, there is no way you can liken everyone else on this board to you when the fact is that most of the people on this website do a great job of meeting all of the necessary requirements for their chosen specie/s. Your tanks are incredibly overcrowded. It must look like there is more fish bulk than water in your tanks!

And to try and help out with the original question of this topic, it seems like the fish in question is probably getting beat on quit a bit. theblueprint, watch your tank and really pay attention to the aggression that is going on there. also, 55 gallons is far too small for three 6 in oscars, especially in the long run. I would advise you to get rid of two of them or else get a much larger tank.

Good luck,
~Matt

There are some that truly believe just that, and as has already been said that it is kinda a selfish act on our part to keep fish ect...
But,as my sig line states.
If you are going to take one of Gods creatures into your care,
then "CARE"for it!
My single Tiger Oscar lives by himself in a 75gal, adequate, but just barely IMHO. He is going to be much happier come the first of the year when I get a 150-180gal, then I may even add a small school of Silver Dollars (4-6 fish) as dither fish. Then after a month or two of careful monitoring of territorial aggression and water chemistry (particularly NO3), I may 'think' about adding
a Pleco... Again... I had to get rid of a beautiful Snow King Plec due to aggression and excessive NO3 levels (Plecs-n- O's are very messy).

That poor little fish, I dont agree with that, I mean what does he do all day, just swim around all lonely? From what I learned about oscars and see my own oscars do, they like company, you should really put a few more in there. How would you like it if god put you in a box all by your self?
