Girls love red aquatic plants

Yes, be sure and woo them with your red pants... er plants... yeah!

Seriously for a tall, bushy red plant, I have recently had good luck with "Scarlet Temple"... It just sounds sexy lol!

It is true and I can use chemistry and math to prove it.

I lost my bookmarks recently but I remember the math for Scarlet Temple plants and women. From memory it went something like this:

C6H12O6 + 6O2 = 6H2O + 6CO2 + Red
2CO2 + 2C2H5OH + Red > attraction
A – R + F < 2 where A = Attraction, R = Red, and F = Female!

Any time attraction is less than 2 it is guaranteed to result in a higher likelihood of women finding your plants sexy (and by extension you)! There is a similar formula for those interested in attracting men using aquarium plants.

Good luck.

Alright guys a bit of an update! i was able to finish the stand, i added the two cross beams to the top, and i wrapped the stand in a black sheet. I also received the Sun Blaze 48" quad T5HO hydroponics light and i also attached the legs to hang the light from.

Pictures!

Nice. That light is pretty dang bright Sean! Stop stalling and get that tank on the stand and filled up!

Sent from my SGH-T989 using MonsterAquariaNetwork App

Well i had to reseal the tank, but i used GE 1 100% silicone for plumbing, which i found out afterwards, that particular silicone has anti microbial and anti-mold chemicals in it, which turns out to my poisonous to fish. So im back to square one with the tank, i need to re-re-seal it. I need to scrape out all the silicone i just put in and get the correct silicone and reseal it again. Also, during the water test, the center brace let go and the tank was bowing like crazy, so i need to fix that also, i basically need to rebuild the entire tank.

So i still have a few days of work on the tank before its ready to go up on the stand.

It's good that you found out about the silicone and had your tank failure BEFORE you put fish and plants in. Count your blessings. You may now continue to rock on.

Hey guys,

A bit of an update with both good and bad news.

First the bad news....

For those of you with a keen sense of observation, you would see that i made the stand 1/2" too narrow...

There are 5 ways to go about fixing this, 3 wrongs ways, one kinda wrong way and one correct way.

Wrong #1: say screw it and put the tank on anyway and have it over hang the back
Wrong #2: say screw it and put the tank on anyway and have it over hand the front
Wrong #3: say screw it and put the tank on anyway and have it half over hang the back and front
Kinda Wrong way #4: Cut a piece of ply wood to the proper thickness and screw it to the top of the stand

and the last way ( the way im going to do it )

Correct way: Take apart the stand, cut new pieces of 2x4 to the correct dimensions and and screw it all back together.

*SIGH*

Seems like this project is one step forward and one step back...

The good news tho! Some of you remember the first time i resealed the tank i used the the wrong silicone that had anti mold and bacterial chemicals in it. I siliconed a glass patch over a hole in the tank, so that patch had to go. Anyone who has ever taken apart a tank, knows that two pieces of glass that are siliconed together, really dont want to come apart.
After a solid 15 minutes of just staring at this piece of glass that i needed to get out, i tried everything that was suggested. I ended up using a rigid puddy knife and a hammer, and very very.... VERY carefully tapping the knife into the piece of glass. Before i did this i took a glass cutter and scribbed a rudimentary checker pattern into the glass to give relief points.

This is what i had to get out

This was the nerve racking process

The successful result

So more setbacks with this project, stay tuned!
