Note to self, do not always trust ebay sellers to know where the plants are actually from!!

Fairly new setup, so the plants are just coming out of their stress period from shipping. I'm going for Asian species on this one, though I guess it's not necessarily a biotope, even though that's what I wanted, but I seem to have been conned into a few of the wrong species plants. I'll be working on changing that, now that I have better research sites to work from! This is also after a group of Cherries took care of a large portion of my algae... before they got EATEN by the dojo! Now I've got Amanos, and they seem to be big enough, so far, and fast enough, to keep themselves alive. *rollseyes* The grass is also now all trimmed back and starting to form a better carpet. Too bad I have to replant the Rotala and the Ludwiga on a daily basis!! The cardamine is less stringy now, too.

Hmmmm.... I need more plants!! :grinyes:

Yup, compared to most of your tanks, I'm really novice! Here's to changing that!

Ok, I just "mowed the lawn" and did my daily replanting. Here are a couple shots from this evening, so you can see where it's come since that first photo. One with, one without flash (you can see my cool background with the flash one - makes it seem to have more depth than it does), and the first decent shot of my danios. All but one are Zebras, and the Leopard was a mistake by the clerk when he fished out the Zebs for me. You can see there's a Marimo ball in there now, too. I LOVE it! It's a lot of fun. It cost a fortune, though - let's hope it brings it back in spades! :

Most of the stringiness of the Cardamine has worked itself out (just right of intake), and new, smaller, leaves are coming on it, giving me hope of a good future for it. And I've had more luck with the ladder diffuser than the glass pipe.

Hmm.. It looks like there's less in it. There really isn't, and the Ludwiga in the back left is growing like mad and has been being trimmed and the trimmings planted, so it should look like more! Oh... i see.... the crypt in the middle has lost some of its leaves. That'll do it. The algae has been doing a number on my nutriens intended for my plants, I'm sure. Thus the Amanos! Maybe I'll let the microsword grow up a bit more, particularly in the back, and front left.... That should make it look fuller.

I'm planning some floating plantage, and either some Dwarf Gouramis or Sparkling Pygmy Gouramis for my top layer fish. I thought about a Betta, but figure the Danios will have too much fun nipping at its fins.

Wow - I've never had much luck with live plants - of course I have several omnivores who tend to be on the vegetarian side, so the few live plants I've ever had didn't last that long. Keep up the great work!
