My Platy is prego. Now what?

So my female platy is getting pretty fat. Fat enough that I'm sure she's pregnant. You can also see her gut is alittle dark. I've bought a small floating thing to put her in. But when do I put her in?

She's in a 20 gallon tank with 1 other female, a male and tiger barbs. The barbs will eat the babys. So I don't have any other option. My other two tanks are full.

What size tank is she in? It sounds like you would like to save the babies. You can start up another tank to raise the fry. When you see them, remove with a brine shrimp net. That's how I went from 4 White Clouds to almost 20. All of the fry won't survive, but they have a better chance than being in with the other fish. Another option is making sure you have LOTS of hiding places like floating hornwort.
