clowns don't get as big as commons do...

I know they don't gat anywherer near as big, i'm just wondering why he hasn't grown at all since i got him.

i had a common in a 20 when i got back into the hobby - even when i moved into a 55 he didnt grow he never got bigger than 4 inches or so before he just strangely died - i fed him algae wafers all the time too and fresh veggies - oh well

As to the clowns

If they are Panaque maccus, and not a Peckoltia species, all panaques, in general, are very slow growers, whether it be clowns or royals. I have 3 clowns that I've had for about 8 months and only the smallest one has shown any visible growth. None of them are over 3"s. My royal has also grown maybe an inch in the 7 months I've had him.

my pleco didnt grow at all when i moved him into a bigger tank, if its one size for a while i rekon they stop, its mummy and daddy may of been dwarfs?

okay, I want to know your secret. I love common plecos and have stopped getting them because I can't handle having to find a home for them when they outgrow my tank. The last one I had got to be 12" in my 30 gallon before I moved him to the 50 and then quickly grew to 18" and now resides in my daughters 75 gallon. Sorry to get off topic, but what other fish that size can you house (tank) with baby guppies and them not be lunch? Do you have a cave for it to spend the day in?
