I went to do a WC on my 75g tank and spotted a little sucker fish on the side of the tank. I was like wtf, I don't have any otos. It was a baby bristlenose, about 1" long! He's still very tiny but he's quite cute. There are only 2 BNs in that tank, and I'm surprised he hasn't been eaten by the nics (larger ones are now about 7"+ long) or the pictus (all about 4-5"). I tried to get a pic but it was hard to focus and then the rosy barbs scared him away. I have no idea if any of his spawnmates survived, and I have no idea if he'll make it. I wanted to catch him but I couldn't find him after the rosys scared him. It's survival of the fittest in my tanks anyway, since I have no set up to raise fry.
 
Congratulations. If there is one there will be more and your BN's will probably keep breeding. Since Christmas I have had 4 spawns in my community tank and they are at it again. I must have at the moment 200 fry in my community tank and about 120 that I have managed to catch and relocate to another tank.
 
The first indication I had that my BN were breeding was when I found a fair-size fry that was likely a couple months old already. It was the sole survivor, the chanchito's in the tank at the time were even more adept at catching BN fry than ramshorn snails.
 
Thanks guys! As far as fry control, they're in a tank with 6 nicaraguense cichlids and 4 hungry pictus so I doubt many will survive most spawns. It was cool to see that one had though.
