Just cut the python in half, or short enough until it starts to suck it up. I had this same problem for years, and now i don't! and about the part that hooks to the sink, in my opinion its junk. buy how ever many feet you need and run the water outside. Only time you should need the green sink thing is if your tank is in a basement and you could still run it to the flood drain! Oh and if you can remove the valve in the python it works better to, doesnt get fouled so much. Hope i helped.
