MY RAMS SPAWNED!!! HELP?!

I came home from work and first thing I always do when I get home, check on my fish. I found my female ram sitting on a sword leaf with about 50-60 little white eggs! Right now her and the male are guarding them occasionally sitting on the leaf and vibrating on the eggs.

This is my community tank and there are 17 other fish in there. I don't know if I should move them or if they'll do a fine job of guarding the eggs and fry. Any input?
 
If this is their first spawn the odds are that they will end up eating them themselves. Once rams start spawning though, they will keep at at it every few weeks until they get it right. Most rams guard their brood well, but depending on what else is in the tank, they may not be able to. If you want to keep their offspring alive, I would move them to another tank after this trial run.
 
Oh no! They're gonna eat them? Jerks. I assume it's their first spawn. I've had them since August and they had just arrived at the store a day or so before I got them. They've never done this before that I've seen anyway.
 
Congrats! It may take a few tries, but they will work it out.
 
Don't worry,the white eggs are of no use anyway.
White eggs were not furtilized.
Depending where you got your rams, most eggs never develop because of all the chemicals used to grow the rams.
Wait and see what happens the next time.

Well fertile or not, the eggs were eaten by the time I woke up this morning. I'm just glad to know that I have a pair, hopefully next time will work out better. In case anyone is interested, here's a picture of them:

yep, rams will usually eat the eggs very early with their first spawn. once they get them to the wriggler stage though, they will usually raise them all of the way to free swimming. when they get to free swimming though, you should have a fry tank ready to go because the male may chase the female away from the fry; when he does this, he is trying to separate the female from the fry because he is ready to mate again and will eat the fry.
