My redesigned Fire bellied toad setup

Looking good!

Hey guys, just came in to say that I will be redesigning my tank in the next couple weeks to be more aquarium-ish. I'll have the bottom a full aquarium and on the back corners I will have collumns made of great stuff with pieces of driftwood stuck in them and painted in cement to look like a tree trunk submerged in a river with a platform above the water with dirt around it, so it looks like an aquarium with a platform of dirt and wood on the water line with the FBTs living on land and maybe some guppies and pond snails in the water. This idea came to me from one of mellowvision's tanks that has a piece of wood supporting a land platform out of water.

Hello, this is my first post on Aquariacentral.com. Anyway, Davidfbt, I also have fire-bellied toads (ten of them) and am an admirer of your tank. You said that in order to make that background, you packed wet dirt onto the aquarium walls. Has any of it fallen down, and do your toads ever pull parts of it off when they climb on it? Do you have to keep it moist?

^Yes the frogs sometimes pull it down from the walls and you have to put it back up, but it does not need to be moistened if the peat moss is touching the body of water and the water creeps up into the back through capillary action.

I will post updated pictures tommorrow of the paludarium. I am also planning on getting the frogs off the ground and make an aquarium portion like I said above, but this time I'm more prepared and I have had all my fish stuff I had in Oregon shipped to me in Ohio. The redesign will have to wait until new year's to actually start, however I have already bought and shaped certain parts of the platform my frogs will be on.
