My rolling stand project

Well I guess I haven't been real good about documenting the process, but here are some pics.

First pick is my custom bulkhead. I couldn't find a 1 1/4 90º bulkhead fitting. I did find this. Just a 90 1 1/4 hose bib with female threaded. I took 1 1/4 sprinkler pipe, heated it and slipped it over the hose bib end of the 90.

On the inside I'm using a drain adapter for sink. Worked fairly well.

For the preassure pump I am running the line inside the overflow of one side. Painting of the piping outside the tank coming soon. As with a front door.

OK so now that the plumbing is done, I filled it with water and all is good.

So another thing is that I made the rock for this system also. The rock had been simmering out on the back porch in a 150 gallon feeder tank. It has between 200-300 pounds of rock in the feeder tank. Was made in February of this year. Has been in salt water a couple months and has had 1 damsel and 2 clowns for livestock. Hardly enough to really make the rock live, but a good start anyway.

yes it is an LED grow panel. I am trying to keep heat and energy consumption down. This panel powers the super nitrate/phosphate remover screen. Been running almost a day now.

I'm hoping for good results. Originally I set the sump up for a skimmer on the right hand side, but since, I am liking the concept of natural system of turf, if it will establish on the screen with LED lighting.

Either way, the left chamber was for macro, and there are now two types in it, caulerpa and chaeto. Both have done well under the LED when I had it temporary on the 55. The star polyps, mushies and such like the LED better than the 18 watt marine glo, but again so does the algae.

The sump has 30# of live rock rubble, the top has about 40# of mmlr which is partially live.

I added a korallia #2 last night to the upper Display Tank. The bio wheel filtration will go from the eclipse hood and t-5's will take the place.

This going to be more a reef tank than fish.

Haven't decided to use a sand subsrate or bare bottom.

Just a brief update on the tank. I have the LED algae turf screen going with a surge pump on a timer to create wave simulation to a point. Check out the vid.

Vid is also in the mega super nitrate thread.

I have my LED light panel off for the video. After I get the mechanics of the electrical settled I will do a final wiring with timers etc.

I'm thinking about a snowflake eel, Niger trigger, my Blue Velvet damsel for this setup.

Smaller critters in the sump of course. If the scrubber pans out well, I will take the first chamber on the left which was for chaeto etc. and maybe make it a coral propagation tank.
