My shrimp keeps doing this?

This shrimp keeps getting sucked into the filter and then just sits there. It's the same shrimp every time. I'll turn off the filter, he'll get out, then I turn it back on and he swims up there and wants to sit on the intake thing.

Once I bumped him with a net to see if he was really stuck, he jumped off the filter, landed on bottom, and then swam back up onto the filter.

Does he just like the feeling of the water being sucked into that thing?

Sounds like time for pre-filter to me. That definately is not good.

Put a sponge over the intake to stop this from happening.

:iagree: Buy a filter sponge (aquaclear works well) make a hole in it for the intake and place it over the intake of your filter to stop the shrimp from getting sucked in.

If its the same shrimp its likely he is on his deathbed. Healthy shrimp avoid being sucked anywhere (including when your cleaning your tank, they avoid the hose).

what kind of shrimp is that? the only pink shrimp i've ever had were ghost shrimp that died.
