My silver dollar

I have a question I believe very strongly that my silver dollar is gravid and i'm just wondering why she hasn't gave birth yet ..does she need any specific thing to lay on ? if so what ...i will post pics 2 night.. ty

They don't give birth. They're egg layers. They breed by the male chasing the female so that she drops the eggs which he then fertilises. They then take no further interest in them, except as a food source.

She hasn't done this yet because they seldom do in aquaria. They go through cycles of producing eggs and reabsorbing them, as do most egglaying fish in normal aquaria.

Have you got a male? Fish are not birds; they don't mate and lay eggs later. They fertilise the eggs when they lay them. A female can't lay fertile eggs on her own.
 
Not to change the topic or anything, but, how old do they need to be in order to spawn and fert? I have medium-small sized silver dollars;one male and one female atm. Couple months old

Around 4-5" I'd expect, depending on species. But they don't breed readily in aquaria.
