I had a 10g metaframe that sprung a leak. I took the rockwork out and put it in a new 10 gallon, covered it in java moss and spoony sag, some hairgrass and a few clippings from my 55, and here is what I have at the moment (a few weeks grown in, but far from complete.

I have some elatine triandra in the mail that will go in front of the hairgrass, and eventually intermingle with it. I'm on the fence between red cherries and wild form neocaridina.

It's lava rock, not wood... I just spread the moss out and spread it over the mound, hanging it on some of the sharper edges of the stones. The mound is held together with silicone, but is nigh invisible now that it's covered in moss and spoony sag.

If you want a neater look to your lava rock-java moss mountain, I've seen some really cool lava rocks covered with java moss. All you have to do is tie the java moss, a single branch at a time to the rock so it's just a very tight but sparse covering. It will grow in very close to the rock and make it look like a green mountain. Check out the pictures in this thread:

I'm sure the shrimp will love it too!

Well I've done a bit of reworking, and added a few plants. I just got a shipment of Blyxa Japonica today, it's the first time seeing it in person, and I think it's about my favorite plant... period. I also got some elatine triandra a week or so ago, and it seems to be acclimating well and taking root. Here's what shee currently looks like.

I also slapped together a canister filter out of a Wal-Mart cookie jar. It works alright, but needs bigger tubing methinks (it's only 3/8" ID, too small apparently). It's running off a penguin powerhead.

Looks good Goatman.....Have you decided on which shrimp to breed?
