My Sword Finally Flowered! (pics)

Hi guys! It finally blossomed! I think it blossomed early this morning...and I didn't check until just now (3:45pm) so, I think I missed its peak...BUT since there are about 20-30 other buds, it's okay!!

So, here is how much the sword has grown...and this is in a 55g, so this isn't a small plant:

This is the flower (the quality isn't the best. I was so excited that I just quickly shot some pics. I'll try harder when I get a flower that is newly-opened):

I just had to share! I am STILL waiting for the lotus to blossom, however. And when that puppy does, it should be AWESOME. Red lotus = bright magenta flowers

Thats way cool. By the way do all swords flower like that? I have a rosette sword it grew a shoot like yours but I got an other plant.

I am wondering how much if any of the swordplant is still underwater. that is one tall plant....

They should flower if they are happy This one just grew another flower stalk. That makes three Plus about 30-40 flower buds Today it had four flowers blossom.

My amazon sword set up an underwater stalk and did make some baby plants. I hope this one will produce some emersed babies....i see some here that have done it:

Hm...it won't let me insert an image from there. I assume my plant will act much like what is seen in pictures 7 and 24 on that site (well, many of them, but they're easier to see in those pics)

I mean, those wouldn't be called motherplants for no reason, I'd assume

The plant is still growing underwater. Its got about 10-12 big (8") leaves growing out from the base just as it would if it weren't growing out of the water. I did hack about 5 of those back a couple of days ago though...they were shading my wisteria...and we can't have that!
