so today i was looking at the tank waiting for my flyers to come on and i noticed the water level of my tank was higher then normal! hmmmm...so after sitting there looking at it for a half hour it was definately slowly...very very very slowly increasing....luckily i didnt go home for the weekend or i woulda came home to a mess but idk ...what to do here...its been running fine for months...i tried to decrease the pump by a little on the ball valve and its not that easy so i guess clean everything (overlflow) and hope that fixes my problem i guess

It is really surprising the things that cause a pump to pump more or a drain to drain less.. A good cleaning should help the matter but it could be as simple thats its the saturday before xmas causing it.. sigh.. I've had those issues as well, which is why I keep my overflow and water level now at an inch and a half below the top of the tank.

Sorry you're having such problems. I noticed on my tank that the level of the tank was going higher and higher while the filter level would stay the same. I cleaned all the little "teeth" with a tooth brush and the filter level raised about 1 1/2 inches. Now I clean it every week.

i cleaned the "u tube" and it seems to have of fixed it..at least thats my story and im hoping my tank sticks to it but clown its not the sat before christmas (the next one is)!! at least it better be the next one cause if so i should be home!!!

I had a similar problem 2 weeks ago - to make it worse, the ATO was adding more and more as the water level got higher! Very happy I caught it when I did. The problem was that a rather large air bubble had built up in the U-tube and substantially decreased the siphon rate.

Glad you caught yours!

Thats why I love my LIFEREEF Overflow.. I haven't cleaned that puppy in 3 months and it hasn't formed a bubble in the U tube yet. And I turn it off every night for feeding.
