My tank is ugly:(:(:(:(

thanks!

I think that your aquarium must be lovely. Lots of real plants and an interesting rock, is it centrally located or off to the side (that's always more artistic if you put a show piece off to one side)? The only thing that I would advise is: you need to have fish for the top of the water and the middle zone, and the bottom dwellers. If you add some floating plants, you'll get that nice green tinge to the light and shafts of light will dance on the bottom. It looks like you might need a nice corydora or kuhli loaches. Maybe some rosy barbs, I love those, they're not as fiesty as the tiger barb. But really, your aquarium sounds very nice. Sincerely, Carplady

beautifulfish, sounds like you're being a bit hard on yourself! I wish you were closer to me, I'd love to send you some of my Crypts but they don't ship well :(
One thing I found that really improves the look of a planted tank is driftwood/bogwood - gives your eye something to focus on other than plants and breaks up the lines.
Check out the Aquatic Gardeners Association aquascaping contest entries for some amazing ideas.

I've never really been a fan of rock centerpieces myself, unless its something like slate with riccia on it (something Amano style) I usually go for a really nice piece of driftwood, and as others have said, if you want a really lush setup, invest in a good CF light....Your plants will love it, and show ithat love by growing before your eyes.

thanks everyone for all your thoughts! and carplady..my rock is off to the side:D
