My Tank PARAMS are going crazy...

All is running. Temp is at 78.7. the hawk is scuttering about as he has since his arrival. All of the fish ate dinner. However, the copperband ate less than normal. I figured he was watching his figure... kidding of course.

The two had acted normal until this evening. Hmmm... I am stumped...

when dipping for water I fill and empty them several times in the tank before I ever get the right level. So I assume the tubes are filled with only tank water. thanks for the idea though!

well im afraid there isn't much you can do for the tank tonight. i'd do a search on normal night time ph drops in marine tanks as i think yours is low. in fact you are inspiring me to go test my own. you may need to go buy a buffer to add in to your wc water for the future to get that ph up to around 8.2 in the day. good luck :)

Thanks everyone... The copperband is now gasping for air at the top of the tank. I feel so bad for the guy. I wish I could help him. I am a grown man and I cant help but to cry for these poor fish. I am sure he will be gone by morning. No wonder the fish put up such a fight when I go to buy them at the LFS.. they know that they are on thier way to my tank...

My partner just added a bubbler to the tank... he refuses to believe that the tank get soxygen in the water without visible bubbles... I hope the bubbles dont stress the fish out more...

Please keep us updated...I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you.

I've never used Myracin myself, but doesn't it mess with the good bacteria in the tank and cause it to go through another cycle? Also, your friend isn't neccessarily wrong about them needing oxygen, but there are certainly better ways to achieve it a SW tank. Does your water surface get any disruption from the powerheads? How much flow do you have again, sorry but I forgot.

I have 2 powerheads and 1 pump in the filter. Plus, there is a bubbler attahced th the powerhead. I wanted to also post that my LFS has solved the issue... I have broken my cycle. When I did the water changes and rinsed my filters with tap water and then followed up with Myracin, I killed all good and harmfull bacterias... I am no riding it low and monitoring the water and waiting for the tank to recycle. Oh what a cazy hobby I have jumped into... THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR HELPING ME GET THROUGH THIS HARD TIME... YOU ARE THE BEST
