In my first setup in this aquarium of 40g I used also tablets of Sera (Florenette A) fertilizer, only for Lotus Nymphea and Echinodorus Bleheri. Now I've stopped using the tablets because I don't have those plants anymore.
These are the pictures of my first setup in 40g.
Today I received my new set of light ,the old ones had expired .This time I will use 3xt5 39w .I tested all three of them, but I intend to change one per week to avoid bloom algae.
I'd love to know what Kelvin rating of bulbs are you using and how many are on at a time? I have a trio of 39watt T5 HO's over my 40b tank, too, but I'm concerned I don't have the proper bulbs in it. When I use more than one lamp on at a time, I get algae on the glass and the driftwood, though I know I don't have enough higher plants to out-compete the algae at the moment. I currently have one 6,500K and two 10,000K bulbs and they probably are not the best quality either from some comments I've read, they are the bulbs from Odyssea.
I absolutely love the look of your tank, great job!! I can't imagine what else you could do to this beautiful tank that would improve upon it, it looks perfect to me!
Thank you both for your nice comments ! My light : 2xT5 39w (6,500K) +1xT8 30w ( 2,700 K) I use all three at the same time . Because the T8 bulb lasts only 6 months I decided to replace it with a T5 that lasts much longer.
