you let someone unload that weed on you?

nice tank by the way. i like the driftwood, but your plants seem rather short for your wpg, esp. that scrawny ludwigia. how long have your plants?

I like the layout. It's easy on the eyes. Just needs to grow in, and more plants would help. You might find that the rocks take up too much space if you intend to plant heavy though.

One of the rocks is sitting on top of the driftwood which is kind of unnatural.

Very nice. I particularly like how the driftwood at the right forms a ‘window’ to look through. I like the rock on the driftwood. I don’t think it looks so unnatural, depends on what you’ve seen. At the cottage, when we go for our miles-long walks, the shoreline turns from marshy, to sandy, to rocky at various points and I like to observe the mixing of general lake “stuff” to see what nature does and get ideas. The intermingling of sand, stones, seaweed (well, I’ll leave that out of my aquarium), driftwood (just smaller pieces, mind you), clam shells, dead fish (leave those out, too) etc. etc. is quite fascinating, sometimes defying all logic, i.e. totally smooth sandy area with 1 rock stuck in the middle.

My only suggestion is a background to hide those cords on the side.

a backing will be put on it soon.. .. i just wanted to wait until all the construction was done ..since i forgot to do it before i filled it...

the rocks are on the drift wood to keep it from floating... and the tank has only been setup for 4 months ..and i just started adding plants about 2mo ago.. so its still a baby .. i battled green water for the first two months due to uncured driftwood. but all is well now!!

i bought the driftwood at a consignment shop in town..it was on top of an armoir... so i took the chance of it being: furniture polished, used with lizards, uncured, toxic...

when i submerged it for the first time it made the tank look like coffee ... lol so i did water changes about every other day for a couple weeks until it started to clear.. then soon after the color went away i started to get the green water ... probably from the ammonia content on the wood ... if used with lizards... but it seems fine ... and after trying a few swords and platies .. as guinea pigs... i decided it was ready to start populating it... its been fine so far... heh heh

and the ricca i bought has been growing quite fast (its in the white tray on the top left.. ) im growing it nice an dense so i can string it to something .. probably the rocks ...

thanks for the comments!
