Thanks. I dont even know what kind of wood that is in the 10g but I also like it better than any driftwood I have ever seen. It has tons of tannins leaking out though. I boiled it for 20 mins had it in my 55g for 2 months and it has been in my 10g for 2 months and still leaks out tannins like crazy, but the betta seems to like it. Doesnt bother me. My bf hates it though.

It is bogwood and you have to keep adding boiling water and changing the water until the colour stops leaching out. I have a piece going at the moment. With frequent water changes it takes about two days. Then you can add it to the tank unless of course you like the colour ;)
Great tanks btw

Thanks for the info. I personally like the color. It makes the tank look more "natural" I guess. Except for the black & white rocks lol. I am looking into pool filter sand in the near future. I hate those rocks. BF picked them out. LOL.

Boy, will I ever get flamed for this..tell BF to get his own tank and aquascape to his taste. I'll change create backgrounds to please my wife (of 32 yrs), but the tank layout is mine.

Actually we have been looking into a new tank. I had my idea of what I wanted when we got it and he just kept putting stuff in there when I wasnt home. It got REALLY bad when he just started adding fish like crazy. No kidding, I made him take back AT LEAST 15 fish..pleco, upside down cat, ID sharks, rainbow sharks, red tailed shark, flying fox, blackskirt tetras, ect... He went nuts.. just glad I am doing research and he isnt doing it all on his own. I even had to teach him how to feed them. If it were my tank, it would be a planted tank with a sand bottom and NO SHIPS lol. I had brown gravel in there but he put the black and white in one day while I was at work.
