I am very sad that last night my favorite fish a valentini puffer jumped to his death. My 46 bow is over three years old and I have lost too many fish to jumping. Because of the way my lights are attached 4 inches above the water the glass top just doesn't work well. The glass blocks light, interferes with the light clamp on the side of the tank and hampers gas exchange.

Another fish will not go in until I come up with a solution. I would like to use a type of netting, but am not sure how to build a cover for the tank that wouldn't look awful. I took the glass top to a local glass cutter to make modifications, but it did not turn out well. I just don't like glass! I need some way to stop fish from jumping out of the tank, but sill allows me to easily feed and not block light.

Any ideas on a net type of lid to keep my friends from jumping to their death!

Sorry to hear about your puff puff :( I often worry about that happening on my tanks with raised tops

Thanks everyone. I love DYI, my problem is time. I will check out the link and if I come up with something different I will post it.
