Not an ID shark. The catfish will max out at 4/5 inches and it also swims mid level during feeding, but hides the rest of the day. When he does swim he stays perfectly level.

You are thinking a little too hard on this one. I bet you are going to :duh: when you get it.
Not really black, normally they are not pure either. I wouldn't say the white belly is a key factor to IDing the species.
100% South American.
These cats also really hate light. Mine only started coming out after my convicts ate his eyes in a takeover of his cave. :cry:
He seems happier now, and is definitely getting chubbier since he now comes out whenever he smells food lol.
