Well here is the deal. The owner of my LFS is a preacher and he decided to retire. For the last few months everything was 50%off and tanks for only 90cents a gallon including everything. Well I went today to lend him a hand cleaning out. He gave me a complete 30gallon, brand new light, UGF, Two powerheads, Biowheel. Aprox 1oolbs of texas wholey rock, Three HUGE pieces of fake drift wood, and some real driftwood attached to slate. 40lbs of slate. 1gallon canister of Giant krill. and 5gallons of crushed coral. And a Eheim 2217 canister(wich i cant figure out how to use haha) So thats my Xmas story.

awesome. im jealous.

i couldnt be happier cause the wife said to me. the only way u will ever get another tank is if its given to you. Cause i want a tank with 1-2 blood parrots or something along those lines

AWESOME!

i would have been happy with just the canister filter, but nooooooo, you had to have the entire package, haha

good score man!

im jealous :joke:

Well most of them. I was once robbed when I stopped to help someone with a flat tire...... So what fish to do in my new 30gallon. Going to use Limestone for the base rock, has large brown pebbles for substrate. Any ideas. Maybe jewel cichlids? or two blood parrots...

Sounds like Christmas came to your house in a real big way. That is totally awsome! With the eheim canister, did it come with directions on setup? That particular canister filter is in the classic series and they are excellent filters. Thier performance is outstanding and they are dead silent in thier operation. Not to mention that they are also quite pricey. Sounds like you lucked out.

Well no it didnt come with instructions. it was on a Contract tank at a dentist office for about a year and the office moved and didnt want a tank again. so he un plugged it and put it in the backroom. When i plug it in its making a wierd cracking noise. so im going to go by petsmart and see if they will exchange it under warranty( i have friends that work there, so they should be able to help me out)

It sounds like it may not be primed correctly. Is the water in the tubes? Does the water ome out of the spray bar? I know this is going to sound weird but if it is connected backwards which is easy to do it can make a weird noise.
