mylasian trumpet snails

I heard that the lettuce trick works with maylasian trumpets if you blanch the lettuce. Something about how it breaks it down and kills it as maylasians eat decaying plant matter just not living plant matter. Anyway its worth a try.
 
I know loaches are supposed to eat snails, but what about kuhli loaches? Don't hear much about them eating snails compared to the clowns (probably since they're so small) but would they eat the babies and help keep the population in check if I got a few to help keep my sand stirred?
 
I might get some... do they breathe? and also do they lay eggs above water?
 
o, good, then I don't have to worry about them drowning... I hate it when snails drown, it's sad
