Mysterious tank deaths

I have some live plants in the tank and some brown algae growing on the glass and spots of green algae.

Also, the 2 peppered cories that died, I had posted about them not being able to stay on the bottom properly when I first got them.

Okay--you might want to check the pH of the tank. Plants can impact the pH of a tank, and without the lights coming on to stimulate photosynthesis, which uses CO2, you could have experienced a pH shift. Just a theory at this point, so just check the pH and see if it fluctuated from it's normal level.

With plants in the tank, you might want to get a timer to handle the lights. They aren't costly, but are a huge convenience factor for planted tanks, especially if you travel much or have a fluctuating schedule.

I didn't do a PH test when I did the water parameter test. I have since then did a 25% water change and the PH is only a little higher than what it used to be (would've been a good comparasion had I remember to do it when I saw dead cories).

I left in a hurry so I forgot to install a timer (I had one in my room that's not being used).
