Mystery snail or algae eater

I'm sitting here watching my mystery snail mouth right over all the algae. I don't know what he is eating from the sides of the tank, but it's not algae!

lol ... I've found that BN's and otos are better for algae control than snails. But, snails are fun. I don't know why people think snails are slow. I've had several that simply zoom around the tank. I could watch them for hours ...

My Mystery Snails Jump Down from places once they had enough then u see them drop ... plonk LOL

Dont Just expect ur snails to live or scraps i started giving them some veggies very recent and they seem to like it

I just want to add that having bottom dwellers and snails are a good option as well

i am having the same dilemma making a decision between the 2.. would a snail be acclimated the same way as a fish??

Yes, I acclimate snails the same as fish.

Well I couldn't resist buying a mystery snail, but I'll be on the look out for the rams and olives. If I can't find them I'll be calling you jinx!

Just thought I'd share---- I also bought some platies (which I also had previously) and algae problems are all gone. Plants are looking healthy again as well. Platies pick at everything! (PS-the snail is "blue" and quite beautiful).
