I've seen my two mystery snails entwined a couple of times and have been expecting to find some eggs, but haven't seen any yet.

I know I should be looking at/above the water line, but are they laid as individuals or in a mass? White or other color-how big?

If they lay eggs and then I top up the tank, is there a chance my fish are finding and eating them? The snails are great, but I don't want to be over run.

Ellen

75 gallon
8 congo tetras
14 rummynose tetras
7 albino corydoras
1 black angelfish
1 pearl gourami
5 otoclinus
4 german blue rams
2 mystery snails

I haven't seen anything like that. Maybe they're using birth control. That would be fine by me.

thanks,
Ellen

I've had the same thing. Keep thinking I'm going to find a mass of eggs any day..but no. You wonder, if in nature, there is some reality to shootin blanks (lol), or even snail ED.

One of my snails laid eggs yesterday for the first time. They are right above the water line and very visible. If you wanted to, you could very easily just scrape them off and throw them out.
