N. Brevis shellies

Hi all.

Thought I would share pics of my shellie setup thats been running for about a week. I have 5 shellies in there and I suspect them to be 2M/3F but they are still young so not 100% sure. I have marine shells and large applesnail shells for decor along with some inert stone. Hoping to get some anubias over the weekend to attach to the stones. As this is my 1st Tanganyikan setup, any suggestions about the tank would be appreciated.
I havent decided on a background yet and I am looking at ways to hide the intank heater.

Tank specs:
Rimless, braceless
2ft/60cm - 60l/13 Gallon Imperial
temp: 27*
pH: stable 8
substrate: crushed coral capped with silica sand
filtration: Aquaclear 20 with matured filter media
clip on 11W light

How do you guess at the sexes? I have 4 young ones and I think I have a mix, but I am not sure.

I believe males tend to be larger, although venting is the only 100% method as there can be some unusually large females as well as smaller than normal males.

If you see two sharing a shell, you know you've got at least one pair.

I think you are correct. I'll be adding plants soon and the black would suit it best.

These shellies were a gift to me by my LFS owner. He doesnt normally stock most Tangs because he doesnt have a market for them. Having spoken to him about these for ages he took it upon himself to get me some to thank me for my support. Thought this was pretty awesome of him and worth mentioning :clap:.
