One more question. So my current setup is a warm water aquarium. I plan on getting rid of the remaining fish soon. Not should I change all the water and remove the gravel I have in preparation for my new set up?

yes, dump the lot...Wash it out with a 50/50 white vinegar and water solution to ensure you start off with a nice clean aquarium...

Did you ever dose meds in that tank? Most importantly, meds with copper in them?
