Like the title says. I acquired this from a friend well over a year ago who told me it wasn't in the hobby, but I wasn't too interested in it so I gave it to another friend who grows lots of mosses. I recently got a piece back from him, here it is:

looks like a fissidens that I collected from the lake I live on... other than that I dont know...?

Given the origin of this plant anything is possible! It was found growing terrestrially in the trays of a large specialty greenhouse that imports plants from all over the world. The growth habit exhibited in the picture is exactly how it grows. It doesn't get really thick, it just kind of winds along putting up the vertical spires every so often. I know of maybe a half dozen people in this area who got pieces from the finder, and I'm sure a few pieces have been spread around. I actually have heard a genus name for it, or at least what somebody thought it was, and it started with a "D". If Chris who posts for the Pet Shack sees this he knows the tentative id. I'm thinking something along the lines of "Candelabra Moss", since the tips sort of remind me of candles.
