So i was talking to my cousin and he told me if i was getting a nano cube i would need to get a "Chiller" because it would get to hot in the Nano Cube.

If it makes any difference i was looking at the 28 Gallon Nano Cube.

I have a 30g cube shaped tank, I'm not sure how that would be different from a "Nano" cube, except for the 2g of water obviously. I live in Phoenix and we keep the AC running at 78 degrees all summer, it usually keeps the water at a constant temperature. We even keep the heater in it. So I guess it would depend on what the climate around the tank is, no?

Depends on where you live/ambient temp in the room as well as the type of lighting on the tank. If it is stock PC lighting and you live in Denver then no, you don't need a chiller, but if you live some place like San Antonio, yes, definately need a chiller.

i live in California, and my room is usually pretty cool.

I have a 14 gal and i have MH running over mine with the top off and a fan on the top blowing the surface and on a hot day it gets up to 84. if your not running mh and your room is relativly cool i would just lift the top and prop it up and then get a small fan to blow over it.

If the heat doesnt stay where it should then i would advise getting a chiller and not procrastinate like i have. i stressed my tank out so much so far becuase i have not gotten one.
