What about a couple of ADF's and a snail, or shrimp, or some real plants?

Holly, the tank has real plants and a few snails (10, I think). A couple of ADF's are sounding good. I'm thinking the frog my try to eat the shrimp, but since the frogs can't see well, ghost shrimp might work. LOL

Wow, that would be a whole new experience. Dunno if I'm up for that. It's a bit mixed up with how I feel about them being kept in little cups at the LFS. Complicated.

hey if u add shrimp ur going to need a heater shrimp dont do so well in cold water 70-80degrees is suitable for a shrimp any colder isnt so good

Good point, Stix. Thanks. When I got up this morning, it was 67 in the house. That's pushing it for the ADF too.

You can get a heater for like 12 bucks... the cost for a meal for two at mcdonalds. You're gonna spend more then that on numerous things... just get a small heater

If you like your snails though, dwarf puffers are probably NOT a good choice lol.

Heh, no and the puffers need a heater too! The issue with the heater is somewhat the size of the tank and but again, this is a 3 gallon Eclipse, so the lid is not condusive to the addition of a heater. The whole lid covers the entire tank with space to run cords from the bio-wheel inside, along with the enclosed florescent tubes, but that's it (except the smaller, inset lid for dropping in food, etc.

Get the heater or you're going to really limit yourself in the way of selection.

I'd thin out the snails to about four, and get a betta and two adf's. But becareful of your filter intake, frogs will get their legs caught and broken. I just had this happen last night and it's not pretty. The poor frog is in a hospital betta cup. He's swimming around, but he gets flipped easily and it's prett obvious his upper thigh is hurt/broken since it's a deep purple. I'll post pictures of him in a few.

cover is not condusive for a heater then take the dremel out and notch the lid for the cord.
