I am looking into converting my 10 gallon into a nano reef. My question is, what is your favorite creature in your nano, 10-15 gallons (fish, shrimp, crab, coral) i want to make this a very interesting and exciting tank. Also i read somehwere a dwarf wartksin angler can be kept in a 10 gallon by itself, but everywhere else says 20 gallon minimum, is it possible?

My open brain coral!!

I have one...but I'm clueless. :)

If you are getting a nano I would get a fish that is reef safe since you won't be able to place a lot of fish in there. Instead you can pretty up your nano by placing corals in. Most people have clowns in their nanos, but there is a reason for that. They are entertaining fish and highly compatible. So far my favorite coral in my tank is my hairy mushroom. They are very attractive and easy to take care of. A cleaner shrimp is also attractive, but they are very sensitive to water changes so I would hold off a bit until you get the hang of things. Ah and feather dusters (the large ones) are always amazing. But they do require a bit of extra care. Phytoplankton must be added to a young tank to keep them from going hungry.

I've got a 20g nano and I'd have to say I have no favourite 'animal' in there, I think it's the variety of animals I have that it makes it really interesting. I have 2 fish (blenny and a hawkfish), a sea star, snail, urchin, a few small low light corals and lots of other critters living in the live rock. Having said all that blennies are just the coolest :).

I have a 15g which is coming along very slowly because all my attention goes to my 120g, but i have a small dracula goby and a pistol shrimp in mine along with some snails and a cleaner shrimp. I would really like a Yellow Assessor, but idk if i want to add another fish to the tank. From here on out i will just be adding corals. I think a goby, pistol pair is a good addition to any nano. Gobies have great personalities and are very entertaining.
