Celestial pearl danios or whatever name they are going by now. Or any of the other small danios...gold ring etc.

not schooling fish

but dario darios are awesome, just got some for free from my LFS, and they are super cute, and active;) max out at 1", you can do like 5 in 10Gs, and so on.

I would do the heavily planted shrimp tank with those fish, and if u want the best of both worlds

shrimps
plants(dense)
a trio of dario darios
a trio of pygmy corys

it could work^

not sure, maybe skip corys, as u have shrimp, and do 6 dario darios?

Skip the darios. They prefer live foods. Just keep only one species of fish and the shrimps.

+1 for the celestial pearl/galaxy rasboras! They are super cute!

I keep guppies in my small shrimp tanks, usually a breeding trio and sometimes some of their "better" fry that I want to keep seperate from the general poplulation in my grow-out tank... and my shrimp colonies are thriving. I've never seen the guppies eat any shrimp babies, but if they do, I haven't missed them.
