I been telling my Gfriend that I needed a Quarentien tank, and today she came home with a nano cube :) I was pretty excited. She got It plus a stand 5lbs of reef sand 1lb of Live sand and 10lbs of fully cured live rock from the stores own reef tank. The guy told her that it would make a great Qtank and then a nice mini reef when are tank was done being stocked. I have a question though. How soon could we start to Q fish in it. The guy at the LFS said that i could use water from the tank I have cycleing because all the ammonia is gone and its just Nitrite and Nitrates left and that I maybe able to start Qing some fish tomorrow? I just wanted a few more opinions on that. Thanks a Ton

If that is fully cured reef rock from the stores tank then I suspect you can go right away, but use fresh water (which also won't have ammonia in it). The rock is already cycled and will filter you tank, assuming it has a food source.

Well It setup fine with the LR that we got. Right now in it we have: 4 Zebra Hermits, 3 Blue Leg Hermits, 4 Cerinth Snails, 5 Astrea Snails, 1 Cleaner Shrimp, 1 2.5-3inch Coral Beauty, and One Unidentified Critter. They have all been in there for about 5 days or so and doing well Coral and the Cleaner are eating when i feed them and I see the Coral eat brown algea on the days I dont. I am only feeding every other day due to the size of the tank. I have a question though. My GF found a Lawnmower Bleenie for a real good price today He is about 3in long. We can take him back if we have to. But he was the last one the place had at 7.99 wich is $10 off normal prices here. We put him in because the store was closed by the time she got home. They will both be going to my Large tank in a couple weeks. Its done Cycling now for the most part Nitrites are at .1 and Nitrates are about 15 or so. He seems to be doing ok so far as soon as we dropped him in he went strait to eating the algae off the sides of the glass and rocks. Thanks for the help again :).

The new critter is a stomatella snail. Nice grazer.

Good luck with the blenny. I would have suggested waiting until the cycle was done, but it may do fine.
