Nanos BJGD Log

My female has gotten completely black, looks like you female GER her breeding tube is down and she's preforming the mating ritual as well now. They chose a spot in the back of the tank and have cleared all the sand out of there pot and now just sit near it flaring at each other and cleaning. I have a good feeling that tonight will be there night.

LOL Dont get your hopes to high though. I had to seperate my male and female cuz they started beating on each other. The female is overly protective now. I need a bigger tank and soon. Hope you have a successful spawn soon.

Well GER guess what there doing right as I type this... Thats right laying there eggs ahahah thank you for all the help man! It's really hard to get pics of them right now they chose the best spot to lay eggs right where I can't see but I took a peep trough the back of pot and saw about 10eggs in one spot I doubt there done.

Pretty cool congrats. Mine did the whole dance thing for awhile before actually deciding to mate. I know there first attempt alot of the eggs got fertalized but they ended up eating them all second attempt only a few got fertalized and well were eaten again. Think it was like there 5th try when they finally got it right. Now there dang pro's. LOL. You got a grow out tank setup for them yet???

Sure do the good old rubber maid bin hahaha it's all I got for now the rest of my tanks are full

Haha well I don't want to remove the fry from this tank to soon there going to be very sensitive. I'm putting up a divider with my ghetto seal around it (packaging wrap and duck tape) this has worked for me in the past but I'm not going to remove the fry until I can sperate the EBJD from the JD/BGJD then Ill remove all the JD and BGs while leaving the EBJD on there side, this way I can adjust how much space they have and eventually give them the whole 55 gallon as a grow out. Waiting to get a new 40 gallon breeder for this Blue gene pair

Yeah the female has a perfect snout now the male not so much he has a bit of a beak but I think with some time a care I can get a very nice batch of EBJD from this which in return I'll raise up and buy some new Jack dempseys and let them pair off.
