Natural Wave Timer vs. SCWD

there are many ways to create water movement, even pumps that specialize in this, such as pumps with rotating heads. The best thing you can really do is try to make it so every spot of the surface is being moved, whether it means using a wave maker, a SCWD or just multiple powerheads.

As for a comparison between the above to products i myself would use the SCWD. The reason is it puts one pumps output in two places, if you were to set two of these up it would be like having for separate pumps, reducing dead spots even further.

I've found that the two SCWDs create a lot of back pressure and reduce flow on the the pumps I've used in the past. I think it was one of the ViaAquas (the largest if I remember right) with one on each SCWD. I know that ViaAquas aren't the best pumps in the world, so maybe that was the real issue not the SCWDs. Which pumps are you using with them successfully?
