Hi all,
I am a worrier!, I have just got started, and my first fish are 6 zebra danios in a 15 gallon tank, I know they dart about a lot and are always on the move, but one of them keeps chasing and looks like he is nipping the others.
Is this okay?
Oliver

Pretty normal. Danio males will chase the females around, especially when she's dropping eggs. As long as it's spread out, and no damage is being done, it's probably not a problem.

Sounds pretty normal to me too. I have 7 in a 29g and they chase each other CONSTANTLY. Just keep an eye out for nipped fins. They generally don't nip though.

Removing the offender is usually an option. Sometimes this just means one of the previously chased will become the chaser, but not always. I haven't ever had a problem with the danios doing any damage.

Zebras are ALWAYS active
one thing I did for a fin nipper, it was a betta, but still
I removed her from the tank and "punished" her by putting her in my 33G bottom feeder tank
recently re-introduced her into the tank and the fin nipping issue is resolved!

I have been watching them all closely for last half an hour or so, and too be honest I think they are all as bad as each other at chasing and nipping, so I will stop worrying!

if you really want to see this type of activity, go watch some tiger barbs. this is all normal and your worrying was for nothing. enjoy, kYle
