I am clueless, but I'm at least getting information prior to starting this massive set-up. I have a Kent Marine Skimmer and I have no clue how to hook this up.
1. When I put in sump does it go in first chamber with water from tank going directly to pump that pushes water back to tank?
2. The air stone, when I put this inside chamer of skimmer, where does the tubing go?

If someone can look over the photo and help me I would greatly appreciate.

BTW I picked up my stand today, now awaiting someone to help move tank from basement upstairs. This is the hardest part, I may have to hire a moving crew to do this. I don't know many people here...

Thanks again as always for the help. USCalvary I'm sure your going to be the first to respond..hahahah

Issues regarding Nautuis skimmer

I've post before and received one input. I changed the sump around however I have questions regarding how this works.

1. Do I have this set up correct? Isn't the pump pushing skimmmed water back to skimmer?

2. The area that has nothing in it, can that be used as a refuim?

3. This skimmer spins the water but doesn't seems to do what I've seen other skimmers do? Am I doing something wrong.

Help..................

On the other side I have a sump with bio balls, hooking this up was easy, but I'm just confused. :help:

I ALWAYS put my skimmers in the first chamber as that is where the highest concentration of DOC's is.

1. it appears you do have it right.
2. yes
3. what do you mean by this, what is it not doing??

I'm not seeing bubble or anything like that. Just spins I thought the bubble was what I wanted to help remove the protein

No bubbles at all??? If you use freshwater to test it you should see VERY large bubbles, do you have a peice of airline tube running from the nipple on the pump out of the tank so it can get air in??

I did test with fresh water to check plumbing, and there was a few bubbles. I will place the hose outside the tank.

Green hose I am removing water as I will begin to fill with RO water this week. But I wanted to be sure all was correct before I wasted salt and water

Ok but you did have the air hose hooked up and out of the water right?? You won't get micro bubbles with FW as it is not a dense as SW, this is why protien skimmers are useless on FW tanks.

Thanks I was getting nervous.

No problem thats why I'm here!!
