Live Aquaria shipped more of my order, but they still didn't send the pearl gouramis. At this point I think that may be a good thing. I plan to get a number (1? 3? 5?) of veil tail angels, but the ones I want are still in the egg. BTW, the strain of angels this breeder has do not get particularly large-no more than 5 inches.

This is a 75 gallon tank, Rena XP2, Emperor 450. am 0, nitrites 0, nitrates 10
Fake plants now, I think I'll want to get better lighting at some point and add live plants.

What I've got now

8 congo tetras
15 rummynose tetras
7 albino corydoras
2 german blue rams
4 mystery snails

I'd love to add a school of 6-8 otos, but haven't been able to find any.

If there is room my next choices, in order, would be;

3 or 5 angels
2 pearl gouramis
additional congos

The rams came yesterday. I had only seen pictures of them, and pictures don't do them justice. They are spectacular. They settled right in and don't seem bothered by all the activity around them.

Scalare angels will get to 6 inches or more unless they are stunted. Leopoldi angels are a different species and only get to 4 inches, but they are almost never imported because they do not look as extravagant as Altum or Scalare do.

go with a bristlenose pleco instead of a school of otos.

1 more corydoras, 2 more congos, 3 (1m, 2fm) pearl gouramis, and 1 angel.

three pearls, two congos, one angel and one more cory. I like it, thanks.
I'm going to have look for a pearl gourami breeder. I haven't seen any in the stores I've visited, and liveaquaria doesn't seem to have an option for requesting particular sexes.

I had the otos listed because I have had a brown algae problem, I don't think a Bristlenose will go for that? The problem seems to be getting less as the aquarium gets older, so I haven't been too stressed about not finding any otos-I can keep up with it by scrubbing during the weekly water change. I don't have a green algae problem. If I upgrade the lights and add some live plants I could see getting a bristlenose.
