Can anyone from Nebraska (I'm from Fremont) preferably the southeast area tell me of a reputable fish dealer around. I know there are always the PetSmart and PetCo's but I don't know if I trust the advice and products (fish) that I get from them. I've had trouble with them in the past while from my local dealer the fish I've received have been great. He just doesn't have that great of selection, so if anyone has any advice I would appreciate it. Thanks

This is a fairly good list of fish stores. It's maintained by other fish people, rather than by the store owners. Nebraska only has 3 stores listed--not sure if any will be close to you or not.

The Fish Store in Lincoln is excellent for selection and health is good. The Pet Ark in Lincoln has very helpful employees but there fish selection is awful, there tanks are cheap though. Stay away from Petco and Petsmart both for fish.

Have you asked the lfs dealer that you talked about if he can special order for you. I asked mine and he said he can get me what ever I wanted. And it only cost me about $10.00 more than most going prices. It was also a backup for me because if something happened in shipping or died before I got there he would replace it. That happened to one of my wild Discus. It died a day after it came in. He just ordered another at no cost to me. That is a good LFS.

Thanks for that link! I live in the middle of nowhere and to get to a small city is a minimum of 1.5 hours or I can get to a major city in 4 hours. There are some great reviews on stores in some of the towns I go to often! I didn't even know they were there!

I'd like to thank all of you for your responses and I'll be sure to ask my LFS manager if he can special order fish for me. Orion thanks for the site link there are only a couple of stores on their but it sounds like they're only about a 1/2 hour away. Thanks a lot
