I need a check list of items i need to buy with a 55 galllon tank such as filters aerators stuff like that help is much appreciated

Filter (canister or a HOB or 2), heater (I'd go with either 2 100w or 1 200-300w), gravel/sand, decorations, thermometer, dechlorinator (prime is excellent), light/hood, fish food, air pump tubing and air stone if you want (not necessary IMO, and siphon/python if you don't already have one for water changes.
I'm sure I missed something....but thats the basics, I think.

i might go with a 29 instead of a 55 idk is a water vacuum good or is that what you guys r talking about when you say siphon
water vacuum = gravel vacuum = siphon. They are all pretty much the same things
But using a python would be much easier in the long run. And for anything over 30 gallons, I'd recommend the python. I just use a normal gravel vac with my 30 gallon, and I'm considering getting a python.

filter-canister or HOB. it depends on your preference and if you are keeping live plants or not. canister filters dont gas off as much CO2 as HOB filters
test kit- testing your water is essential, especially during the cycling process.

if you're getting an Aquarium KIT then it will come with a filter, a heater, and a net.
in addition to that you're going to need a dechlorinator (most of us suggest Prime)
you're also going to need a Freshwater Master Test kit. (most of us suggest API brand)
and "Tropical fish food"
Then you'll need some source of ammonia to get your cycle started (either bottled pure ammonia with no additives, cocktail shrimp, or fish food)
a gravel vac is the same thing as a syphon, and there's one kind (called a Python) that you can hook up to your sink faucet and it makes cleaning/filling your tank REALLY easy.. definitely worth the $$.
you also need to see if you can get some gravel out of a tank that's already running and has fish in it (your pet store may let you have some of theirs, or maybe a friend that has fish?)

why gravel out of a tank that already has fish for the cycling to go quicker or something?
