I'd like to move the guppys over to another tank, then get a few more celebes rainbows

I have had him for about 4 months or so, no i don't have 4, the LFS did not even have that many. But if I find them again, I'm going to buy a couple more. I didn't realize they would be so hard to find later on....

I don't think it is a celebes Rainbow. I just purchased 2 Celebes rainbows, and they look similar, but their fins are a differnet shape and they have black coloration on their fins...

Great now I have 2 kinds of schooling fish that don't have schools :(

I don't knwo what I am going to do now, i guess give them back to the fish store for free and continue searching.

My Fish has a more pointed head as well the celebes seem to have more of a round figure. Their top and bottom fins stick up more and go to a point where the fish I have has a longer non pointed fin...

Their tails look the same though???

I think the'll do fine together like that. i've seen different bows school together.

Thanks I went back to the stoer and found another blue eye that looked jsut like the male in the picture, with the same kinda rear fin. However the owner said it was agentinitan and not australian but well it looks just like the one I have only smaller (maybe younger). So now there is 4 blue-eyes. The one in the picture is a male. I thought it was chasing my guppies but after watching it's actions today I think it was trying to mate with them LOL. Now it is very excited.

I also picked up some Galaxy rasbora, Microrasbora sp (8 of them) they are now some of my favorite fish! I can now experience real schooling in only a 20 gallon.

Not that the Rainbows don't school, but they more just group together since they are larger, the Rasbora are small enough that the tank gives them alot of space to swim as a school.

Ahh this article explains everything.

So it is a Popendetta Furcata not a Celebe, So I'm thinking to pickup another Popendetta Furcata, and leave the 2 Celebe Rainbows I purchased

5 fish FTW?

20 Gallon would have:
3 Dwarm Honey Gouramis
2 Celebe Rainbows (Telmatherina ladigesi) - compleatly different family.
3 Popendetta Furcata (Popendeta Furcata)
8 MicroRasbora Galaxy (very small fish)
2 Bamboo Shrimps
5-6 Brigs.
Heavily Planted...
