need a pleco...

ive been doing regular water changes, and cleaning and maintenence as i should, only have two fish. a rainbow shark and a danio. but it just keeps coming back. my 55 is completely algae free, visibly that is. n i know that plecos need other things than algae, thats why ive had one for five years now. sorry if i seem snappy, bad day at work. my other catfish and pleco are in my 55. i think i might go with the otos that gg suggested. thanx
 
well.... i'd get rid of the rainbow shark fist, chances are good he'd kill a pleco if you put it in there. but really, if you are to control algae, you must get to the root of the problem, which could be too much light. do you know hwhat type of algae it is? can you describe it?
 
it's brown algae. i have an 18w flourescent.
and i have a rainbow shark in with my pleco in my 55 n he doesnt bother my pleco at all. actually nuthing does cause my pleco is the big guy in the tank.
 
Ottos love the brown stuff but once it is gone be prepared to suppliment thier diet with algae wafers and some fresh veggies such as zucchinni which they need from the beginning anyways.
